Cathedral Peak

During our college years, Dann and I would occasionally meet in Yosemite to climb. We’d spend our days on the north side of the Valley running lines under Royal Arches, then bouldering until sundown alongside the dirtbags in Camp 4. Later, shoulders aching, we’d collapse into our bags and sleep hard under starry skies.
One year, when we were college juniors, Dad — who was now deep into his own quest to climb every significant mountain in California and the highest point of every State in the nation — suggested that the three of us meet in Tuolumne Meadows to climb Cathedral Peak.
We had to do it.
