Lakewood is flat. There are no hills in the city, not even the smallest rise of ten feet. While this flatness contributes to Lakewood’s unremitting uniformity, the city’s smooth streets and new sidewalks were good for skateboards. Since this is what we rode, Lakewood was a great place to be a fourteen-year-old boy.
